Church Stewardship Software for Pledge Drives
A stewardship drive asks families for two things: a commitment of time and talent, and a financial pledge for the coming year. The second is where parishes get nervous, because a pledge list in a shared folder can be read by anyone who has the folder. ParishSignUp’s stewardship tools, part of Parish Plus, keep pledge amounts with the treasurer. Families pledge from their phones, the treasurer sees amounts and totals, and admins can follow participation without seeing what anyone pledged.
What church stewardship software should do
Stewardship software collects commitments, not payments. It should make pledging easy for families, give the treasurer accurate totals, connect offers of time and talent to the ministries that need them, and keep individual amounts private. Taking the money, mailing envelopes, and keeping the books are separate jobs, usually handled by a bank, a giving platform, or bookkeeping software.
Stewardship tools in Parish Plus
Financial-support pledge form
Each parish gets a financial-support form for its pledge drive. An admin or treasurer sends it to every member or to selected households, after confirming; each person is notified by email or Telegram and pledges from the link. The person who submitted can still see their own amount on the form.
Amounts only the treasurer sees
Pledge amounts are stored apart from the form’s other answers. The treasurer is the only parish role that can see them and the stewardship totals — not the priest, not parish admins, and not a ParishSignUp site administrator. Submission notices for the financial form never include amounts.
Time and Talents alongside treasure
The Time and Talents survey asks where each person will serve. Analytics lists everyone who checked each area by name, so a new ministry leader starts with a list of people who have already offered instead of an announcement from the ambo.
Analytics for the council
Analytics shows membership forms, survey responses, and pledges together for admins and treasurers. Admins see that a household pledged; only the treasurer sees how much. That split lets the council follow the drive without turning the pledge list into common knowledge.
What it doesn’t do
Pair it with whatever your parish uses for giving and bookkeeping: ParishSignUp holds the commitment, and your giving system holds the money.
- It doesn’t charge cards, run bank transfers, or accept online donations to your parish.
- It doesn’t track offertory envelopes or produce year-end giving statements.
- It isn’t accounting software: no general ledger, funds, budgets, or payroll.
A pledge drive, start to finish
-
Stewardship Sunday is three weeks away.
After the announcement at Liturgy, the treasurer sends the financial-support and Time and Talents forms to every member. Families pledge from the email or Telegram link that same afternoon.
-
The parish council asks how the drive is going.
The treasurer reports the totals; the admins see which households have responded in Analytics, without amounts. Nobody passes a spreadsheet of pledges around by email.
-
The youth ministry needs new mentors.
An admin opens the Time and Talents results and gives the youth leader the names of everyone who offered to help with youth work.

Stewardship questions
Can parishioners give online through ParishSignUp?
No. ParishSignUp records pledges; it doesn’t process donations to your parish. Keep your current giving platform or offering envelopes for the money itself.
Can our priest see what each family pledged?
No. Only the treasurer can see pledge amounts, which keeps them with the role responsible for parish finances. If the priest also holds the treasurer role, he sees them in that capacity.
Is stewardship part of the free plan?
No. Stewardship is part of Parish Plus, an optional per-parish subscription billed yearly, with the first month free. The price depends on the parish’s jurisdiction and is shown inside the app to admins, treasurers, and priests.
Can we get pledge records out for our bookkeeper?
Yes. The treasurer can export the parish’s data, pledge amounts included, as a printable document and a JSON file at any time. When an admin exports, pledge amounts are left out, following the same rule as the app.
Can a family change its pledge after submitting?
Submitted forms can’t be edited until the next drive. If a family’s circumstances change during the year, they should speak to the treasurer directly.
