Catholic Parish Management Software for Ministries, Confession, and OCIA
A Catholic parish office usually already has a system for its sacramental registers and another for contributions. What often still lives on paper is the volunteer side: lectors and ushers, hospitality after Mass, the funeral luncheon team, the OCIA sign-in sheet. ParishSignUp handles that layer — ministry schedules, confession times, Catechesis attendance, and optional stewardship pledges — without pretending to be the parish register. It is available to Roman Catholic (Latin) parishes and to the Eastern Catholic churches, from Ukrainian Greek Catholic and Melkite to Maronite and Syro-Malabar.
Where ParishSignUp fits in a Catholic parish
Think of it as the ministry and formation layer beside your existing records. Volunteers sign up for Mass ministries and events; parishioners book confession; catechists take OCIA (formerly RCIA) attendance; the finance council can run a pledge drive with amounts visible only to the treasurer. Baptism, confirmation, and marriage registers, Mass intentions, and diocesan reporting stay in the systems you use for them today.
What it handles
Liturgical ministry schedules
Build recurring schedules for altar servers, lectors, ushers, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, choir, and sacristans — weekly, monthly, or on the nth Sunday — with named slots for each role at each Mass. Volunteers manage their own signups, and reminders by email or Telegram reach the early-Mass lector the evening before.
Confession times parishioners can book
Offer appointment-style confession alongside the Saturday line. A weekly schedule generates times about two weeks out; parishioners book from one parish link and choose their confessor; only that priest sees the name. One-off dates, such as a Lenten penance service, can be assigned to a specific priest or to Any priest.
OCIA and RCIA attendance with QR check-in
Catechesis, part of Parish Plus, keeps an OCIA roster — inquirers, catechumens, and those received — with a date for each step. Start the session, show the QR code, and people check themselves in; catechists can also mark attendance by hand. Attendance downloads as a CSV file for the pastor or the diocesan office.
Stewardship pledges with treasurer-only amounts
A financial-support form lets households make a pledge for the coming year. Pledge amounts are stored apart from the rest of the form and only the parish treasurer can see them — not the pastor, not parish admins. ParishSignUp records pledges; it does not collect payments.
What it does not replace
Keep your existing systems for these. ParishSignUp sits beside them and covers the volunteer, confession, and formation work they usually don’t.
- Sacramental registers and certificates for baptism, confirmation, and marriage
- Mass intention books and stipend tracking
- Online giving, offertory processing, and parish accounting
- Diocesan census and reporting systems
- Child check-in for nursery or religious education
Catholic parish scenarios
-
The liturgy coordinator fills four weekend Masses with servers and lectors every month.
One recurring sheet per Mass covers the season. A volunteer who can’t make it cancels their own signup and the open slot is visible to everyone else, so the coordinator fills gaps instead of rebuilding the schedule.
-
The OCIA team meets every Tuesday evening from September to Easter.
A catechist starts each session from a phone, people scan in as they arrive, and newcomers fill in a short form and appear as inquirers. After the Easter Vigil, reception dates are recorded on the roster.
-
A Lenten penance service with several visiting priests.
Each visiting priest is given the Priest role so his times appear. The parish creates one confession date with slots for each priest, and parishioners book from the same confession link they always use.

Questions from Catholic parishes
Does it keep sacramental records?
No. ParishSignUp doesn’t hold baptism, confirmation, or marriage registers and doesn’t issue certificates. Catechesis records the date someone was received, but your sacramental register remains the official record.
Can it replace our contribution system?
Not if you rely on it for giving. Stewardship in ParishSignUp records pledges with treasurer-only amounts; it does not process payments, track offertory envelopes, or produce giving statements.
Will our diocese see our parish data?
Only if your parish lists its diocese and an administrator for that diocese has been approved — and then only the parish’s published signup sheets, read-only. Member emails, pledge amounts, and confession bookings are never shown to a diocese.
What does it cost?
Ministry schedules and confession booking are free, with no ads. OCIA attendance, stewardship, membership forms, and analytics are part of Parish Plus, a yearly per-parish subscription with the first month free. The price is shown inside the app to priests, admins, and treasurers.
Can parishioners use it in Spanish or other languages?
Yes. Each person chooses from 24 languages, including Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Ukrainian, Arabic, Malayalam, and Tamil, or simply follows their phone’s language.
