Free PerfectPotluck Alternative for Parishes
PerfectPotluck (perfectpotluck.com) makes it easy to coordinate who brings what to a potluck. ParishSignUp offers the same dish-assignment experience plus parish-specific tools: recurring Trapeza meal schedules, Orthodox fasting calendar awareness, allergen declarations, and volunteer reminders — with no ads on the signup page.
Why parishes switch from PerfectPotluck
- Designed for recurring parish meals (Trapeza, coffee hour, feast-day dinners), not just one-off potlucks.
- Orthodox fasting calendar awareness — flags fast days so dish suggestions stay appropriate.
- Built-in allergen declarations (peanut-free, shrimp-free, gluten-free) per slot and per signup.
- Bring-a-dish notes, participant comments, and serving size fields out of the box.
- Email and Telegram reminders so volunteers don't forget what they signed up to bring.
- Unlimited potlucks and unlimited participants — no upgrade prompts.

Frequently asked questions
Is ParishSignUp really a replacement for PerfectPotluck?
For parish and church meal coordination — yes. ParishSignUp handles dish assignments, allergen tracking, and signup notes the same way PerfectPotluck does, plus it recognizes fast days and supports recurring Trapeza schedules that a general potluck tool doesn't handle.
Can I use ParishSignUp for a one-time potluck, not just recurring ones?
Absolutely. Create a single potluck sheet, add dish categories (main, side, bread, dessert, drinks), set the date, and share the link. Recurring is a bonus feature — most parishes use both.
Does ParishSignUp track fasting restrictions like vegan / fish-only?
Yes. When a meal falls on an Orthodox fast day, the sheet can flag that and volunteers can see which dishes are appropriate. For strict Great Lent weeks, organizers can mark the whole meal as vegan or fasting.
Is PerfectPotluck free? Do I really need an alternative?
PerfectPotluck offers a free tier, but parishes often outgrow it — especially for recurring meals, allergen tracking across many signups, and reminders. ParishSignUp includes those with volunteer signups, and does not put ads on the signup page.
